Because the best news is, that since chance does play a role, one important factor of success IS under our control. The number of at bats. The number of chances taken. The number of opportunities seized. For even a coin weighted toward failure will sometimes land on success. As the IBM pioneer Thomas Watson said, “If you want to succeed, double your failure rate.”
And then, reflection can lead the way for the future.To be able to look at yourself in the third person and judge your own actions is not only vital, but necessary to pave the path forward.
Not in a condescending way. In a review type of way.
Take responsibility for everything. And know when there were chances to help others along the way. Look at the wins and losses as a fan and take note of what you would say as a mentor.
Your personal growth is to guide you to a better future.
